Finalist! Landmark air source project chosen by The Green Energy Awards

We are excited to announce that once again, our landmark air source heat pump installation at Paragon House has been shortlisted for a top industry award. Finn Geotherm is a finalist in Regen’s Green Energy Awards 2023 – Clean Energy Scheme category.

The awards are a leading national celebration of pioneering innovation and sustainable development for the UK’s energy system. Out of more than 120 entries submitted this year by companies, communities and individuals across the UK, 29 were shortlisted for their outstanding efforts in transforming the UK energy sector across six award categories. The Clean Energy Scheme Award commends projects that are spearheading the clean energy industry and delivering significant carbon savings.

Finn Geotherm has been selected for the Paragon House project, which saw the company install the first Panasonic 210kW air source heat pumps in Europe atop the 11-storey teaching facility owned by the University of West London. The building had been heated previously using gas boilers and, as part of UWL’s strategy to reduce carbon footprint and energy consumption, Finn Geotherm was appointed to specify and install a heat pump system.

Merlin Hyman, chief executive, Regen, said:

“Now in their twentieth year, The Green Energy Awards recognise the pioneering people and projects leading the UK’s transition to net zero energy. Decarbonising our energy system is a major challenge but the inspiring achievements of all the nominees provide optimism that it is achievable.”

Guy Ransom, commercial director at Finn Geotherm, said:

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted in these prestigious awards. This was a highly significant project, which demonstrates the vast opportunity for air source in commercial applications, particularly in areas where ground source heat pumps aren’t an option due to space limitations in city centre locations. To be shortlisted is testament to the skill, hard work and dedication of the entire team at Finn Geotherm.”

Winners will be announced at the end of March. Read more about the project in our case study.
