How are you heating your home?
Public Sector

Whatever the size, style or age of your property, we can help by providing constant, energy efficient heating and hot water all year round.

Our systems will take the hassle out of heating and hot water, as well as improving the overall environment of your estate. Something worth considering when you think that, as an example, heating and hot water accounts for over 85% of energy usage in care homes and healthcare properties and around 75% of energy usage in schools.

  • Utilise your estate

The horizontal collector loop of a ground source heat pump is installed approximately 1.2 metres below the surface of the land. This gives you the ability to harness the energy beneath land such as a car park or green space. Where less land is available, we can drill down up to 200m for bore holes, giving all the advantages of ground source but with far less ground space required.

Air source heat pumps do not require a collector loop and are a space saving and cheaper alternative. While they are ideal for smaller buildings, the higher capacity air source systems we can install are just as good as ground source in delivering heating and hot water for larger premises. They can even be installed on flat roofs or high-rise buildings – avoiding any loss of space and removing any chance of vandalism.

  • High volume of hot water on demand

Heat pumps generate plenty of hot water as it is required, meeting the demands of busy buildings which are often constantly in use.

  • Reliable and low maintenance heating

As a heat pump doesn’t use any form of combustion, it should be expected to last much longer than a traditional boiler and will require less maintenance than other renewable alternatives. For example, a ground source heat pump should last more than 30 years – at least three times longer than a modern condensing boiler.

  • Increased safety of low temperature radiators

Heat pumps are at their most efficient when providing steady state heat at a lower flow temperature. This makes them an ideal solution for low temperature radiators or underfloor heating in environments where safety is paramount, without compromising on the heat output and avoiding the need for unsightly and inefficient radiator covers.

  • Reduced carbon footprint

Heat pumps generate much lower CO2 emissions than conventional heating systems, helping organisations to meet the environmental credentials expected of them.

  • Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

If your organisation is eligible for ESOS – a mandatory energy assessment scheme administered by the Environment Agency – we can help you to meet your recommendations and deliver key benefits such as reductions in energy and carbon emissions.

  • Hassle-free servicing and maintenance

As heat pumps do not involve any combustion, servicing and maintenance is usually straightforward. An added benefit of choosing Finn Geotherm to design and install your heat pump, is that we also have an in-house servicing and maintenance team who can attend to your system for years to come.

This project has made a significant contribution in our carbon reduction journey and has given us reassurance that change for the better of the environment can also be cost-effective and deliver a practical operational solution.
